Photographer’s Note

This year Columbus Day, October 9th, was a perfectly clear and very warm day in Hartford. I went for a walk and of course had my camera with me. Early to mid afternoon, as I was waiting for a bus to go to a different town, I shot this photo of the Traveler's Tower across the street.

Traveler's Tower is not only an essential component of downtown Hartford skyline but it’s one of the most recognizable buildings in the state of Connecticut. Hartford is known as the insurance capital of the world and the Traveler’s Tower is one of its insurance industry signature buildings. It was built in 1919 in a neo-classical style by architect Donn Barber. It is located about 500 feet above sea level and it stands 600 feet tall. Traveler’s Tower was built as the tallest building in New England. Its observation deck offers a panoramic view of the city of Hartford, the Connecticut River and the surrounding countryside.

Hi Iulian. I like the saturation of the sky and the perspective showing the tower againt the awesome blue. Good use of light and angle to capture this scene. The building definitely shows some fine architecture. Nice work.

Frumoasa cladirea si interesanta nota. Poate unghiul e putin prea ascutit, totusi.
Imi place ca ai prins in cadru si citeva ramurele.

Fair exposure and good detail. Sorry but it tells (me) nothing. The POV is wired and it seems the building will soon fail. I can't find a link between the two composition elements, the branches at top and the awkward tower. Well, that's just me. I am sure you wanted to say something with it, but to humble me the message is dull.

Uite ce e ,Hermin e un mare artist, insa de data asta eu un simplu fotograf amator il contrazic,pentru ca mie imi place incadrarea,POVul si detaliile. E o imbinare excelenta intre imensitatea cerului -apropo de un albastru pe care il ador-impunatoarea cladire si natura...Dar fiecare cu parerea lui,nu-i asa?
