I couldn't decide which of these pictures of Hammonasset Wetlands Preserve to post, so I took the one that required the least processing. Did I make the right choice?

Hi Patricia, A nice shot of the gull spanning its arm over the rock to the open ocean. A nice shot of the beautiful blue background with a clear and detailed rock in the foreground. A well taken picture.

Hi Pat,
A pleasant image that leaves you with a feeling of peace and tranquility. You handled the differences in light well as there is no over exposure.Beautiful in it simplicity!
Regards, David

Hi Pat!! the wide space left to the sea gives the feeling of the space where the gull will fly: well done. And you captured the gull in starting his flight so well. Nice photo Pat!

Hi Patricia.
The sharpness n the bird is excellent. I like the frame you get with the large place for the see.
Well done
BErtrand

All three are good Pat and I think you could have saved the WSs for a full post later. I see you have been working hard on the gulls and I like the minimal composition placing the gull and rock right in the magic third (or ninth depending how you view it). You also have the added interest of the circular splash to tease us.
Kath

Hi Patricia,
The photo has caught perfectly the flight of the gull, the color of the sea, and some thing that is moving in the water, it is some fish?
The rock to the left of the image completes this beautiful composition.
Good work.
Regards,
Josep

Patry
Que buena composición, los colores del agua y el ave son muy hermosos, claro que se pueden mejorar con edición.
Muchos saludos
Rafael

Hi Patricia. Nice work from Connecticut. The lens sure lets you zoom in a long way while upholding great quality. Actually I like your WS with the panorama work too. You should try more of them. I thought you had a D70, not a D50? Nice catch Patricia.

Hi Patricia,

I like very much the composition and the aspect ratio of the image. This and the position of the gull are brilliant.

I also find very good the dymanyc range you got here Patricia, the highlights and shadows look very good (did you notice some improvement with this using RAW?).

Best regards and have a great weekend!
Carlos

Hi Patricia
Beautiful image of this flying seagull.
Good composition that show us this beautifull blue sea.
You really make the right choise.

Teresa

Hi Patricia,
This is a different approach and I like more this one with this splendid seagull flight near the rock and a excelent pont of the frame. Nice blue water and a must this circular splash captured. Good light, colors and fine sharpness. Good work so well seen and composed. Congratulations and have a nice Sunday.

Best Regards
Fernando

Hello,
One of the reasons why I do like your photos is that most of them are really peaceful. This one is peaceful for me too. Firstly, because colours are calm. Secondly, the composition is really good. Thirdly, light is both delicate and warm; I like these flickering sun reflections on small waves. The bird is a good component in the photo, probably it is the most important piece, but is presented without any imposition on viewer and that's why I like it. Well done!
Cheers,
Damian

Hi Pat,
Lovely capture of this gull in full flight over the beautiful turquoise sea. You did a very good job managing this challenging light to achieve a very peaceful coastal image.
