...."A Windmill..Once"....we discovered this old wooden windmill on a recent road trip. You can see nature has already begun to reclaim what is it's space. If left unattended, by this rancher, nature will consume this windmill overtime. We will keep an interested watch on this event.

Thanks for looking in.
Larry

Hello, Larry.

I like this one because it reminds me so much of scenes of rural America as we used to see it on our televisions and in the cinema. Windmills like this seemed to be everywhere in John Wayne movies!

What were these windmills for - was it for drawing water up wells? I presume that nowadays they would be used to generate electricity.

Nice colours and details and an interesting note too.

Best Wishes,

John.

Hi Larry
Nicely done. The exposure is right on and the composition meets the rule of thirds with the placement of the windmill. I like the juxtaposition of the manmade structure and its rigid lines against nature's random shapes of the tree trunks.
Phil

Hi Larry,
Such a windmill is an interesting detail bit here it merges somehow with this busy background and does not stand out too well. Just as an idea there are some interesting things to try out with such windmills.
Have a nice day JY

Hi Larry

Looks like a scene straight out of rural Australia. Good color, sharpness & framing. The young tree growing underneath the windmill will surely triumph in time? Tfs!

Hello Larry. Nice shot from the outback. I like the tall trees which have overtaken this old windmill. Excellent image for me to understand the landscape you are living in. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
