The former Cleveland Aquarium opened on February 6, 1954, and was located on the city's near-east side in Gordon Park. It was created by the Cleveland Aquarium Society, a group formed in the 1940s, the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, which operated the facility. The aquarium was housed in a building constructed in the 1930s that previously served as bath house. Structural problems with the building forced the closing of the aquarium to the public in June 1985. The aquarium ceased operation in 1986. The former aquarium site then became a police dog training facility for the City of Cleveland.
The current iteration was conceived in 2009. The new aquarium opened in January of 2012, occupying the historic FirstEnergy Powerhouse building located on the west bank of the Cuyahoga river in the city's Flats district. It consists of approximately 70,000 square feet of exhibition space and features exhibits representing both local and exotic species of fish. The facility is the only free standing aquarium in the state of Ohio and ends a 26-year period that the city has been without a public aquarium.
This photo was taken at the jellyfish exhibit of the aquarium.

The strange green tone does give your photo a alien look and I had read somewhere that jelly-fish with their tentacles inspire lot of alien looks in movies. Nice capture and good title. Thanks for sharing.

we have a pretty bad weather in England recently so the only thing which we recently did was a visit to an aquarium... And I thought about uploading a photo from there but then I saw a photo from aquarium uploaded by Sonata11 and now you :)
We have seen similar one with plenty of jellyfishes. It was so hard to photograph well. It is much more impressive in the reality.
Nice work here.
Have a great weekend,

A good in depth view onto the aquarium, like you were deep underwater in the ocean. An excelent view on life inside.
Transparent jellyfish superbly shown, and light set immaculately on camera.

as much as I hate jellyfish in real life, in the sea, I'm totally mesmerized when I see them in documentaries and photos. I like very much the tint you've given to your photo, making this scene look timeless and leading the viewer to think of the outer space too. There's great balance and sense of fluid movement in the frame, the textures are as appalling and as mesmerizing as ever. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,

Well done for trying something different and better still for making it work. This has a cosmic look, with bright stars in the night sky behind a strange nebula.
Definitely alien and quite mesmerizing, what a beautiful translucency. Great exposure control given the available light condition. This appeals and I love the 'infinite' feel, Congrats
