Photographer's Note

This past January I walked out onto the ice covering The shoreline of Lake Michigan. I ventured out about 75 feet to capture the ice formations at the edge of the ice. The temperature was -14 degrees Fahrenheit with a wind chill of -45. I stumbled on the rough ice and ruined my telephoto lens. I didn't realize it until I looked at some photos taken after the fall. The optics moved. But, as many photographers would say, "I got the shot!"
