Photographer’s Note

One of the charms of Appleton, and especially its older neighborhoods, stems from its many tree-lined streets. This neighborhood and this street is one such. Not far from the Fox River, it shows off the exuberant color that has marked this autumn especially well. The house is a bit underexposed, and that's intentional: I spot-metered the light to try to take full advantage of the leaves. Also, this is a somewhat secluded neighbhorhood, and I think the lighting underscores that.

Hallo Jim!
I like this one because of it's wonderful light atmosphere. You nearly can't show autumn in a more beutiful way. The only "hinted" building in the background works very well here.
A truly beautiful autumn picture!

Very effective technique renders beautiful varying shades of autumn colors that surround this sturdy brick home. The window catches some beautiful colors reflecting in its multi panes. Excellent composition. TFS

What a wonderful effect of the sunlight on the autumn leaves, giving the glorious golden colour! The sombre deep red brick wall of the house is the perfect backdrop for the golden leaves to shine. Well framed with the two tree trunks. Excellent work!

The sunlight on the leaves (maple?) is really very nice & catchy. Very attractive composition too with the placement of path, and tree trunks providing an excellent framing for brick house. The reflection on the window is another point of interest. Great lighting & color saturation.

La lumière est magnifique dans ce lumineux feuillage jaune. J'aime aussi les grands troncs noirs ainsi que la réflexion de la lumière dans la vitre de la porte.
