Ice Break at Daybreak
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Fox River presents its beauty with many varying faces. Again this January, we've had unseasonable warmth. Yesterday at sunrise, however, chunks of ice were strewn over the surface of the waters before the day warmed up. So far this year, it's a rare sight. I set the shutter and aperture to use as much of the ambient light as possible. This was taken at Peabody Park, one of my favorite local places. |

Jim, this is a great moment you captured. I think you forgot one small thing though - sharpen. With silhouettes, especially tree silhouettes, it is crucial have them in focus, it strenthens the effect. I tried to sharpen the image in PS, the effect is quite dramatic. Try it yourself (I recommend NeatImage trial if you don't have PS).
All the best,
Boris
Hello Jim,
Very nice composed picture, i like the pink colours from the sun ray effect. The tree silhouettes make this picture more impressive. tfs
