What a sight! This gorgeous light emphasizes the the beauty of these "pastel" rocks in a wonderful way. One already can feel the coming night between the trees in the lower part...a wonderful atmospheric scenery.

Hi John,
An apparently simple POV, but certainly wonderful. It's a gorgeous place and I guess that that light of almost sunset on the cliffs makes the photo even more beautiful. I am amazed with the clarity of the shadowed forested slope.
I like it a lot.

Hello John,
nice composition with the diagonally placement of the rock of Spearfish Canyon to predominate in the scene.But co-essential impressive is the afternoon light that falls from the left.The contrasted colours are superb as the tones of the green.Informative your note too.

I have in my head an idea, when I will find time to drive to a place not far away from my home there is a place it looks soooo similar to this one here!-:)Especial the rocky parts.

A picture where light plays such an important role. Excellent layers of colours, the green, the brown & then the blue. The diagonal split of the image is also excellent.I feel a narrower aperture would have given you more sharpness, especially on the trees.
