| Atop a hill in Rapid City, South Dakota, you can see our Jurassic friends basking in the sun (or on this particular day an imminent rain storm). These guys have been a fixture in Rapid City since the 30s. It's a great example of kitschy roadside Americana. In fact, Rapid City in general is great for this. While some will say it's touristy and tacky (there may very well be more billboard signs than inhabitants), it is a great town to explore just before heading into the Black Hills. There are numerous things to see and do in this area and the dinosaurs are just one offering. Head up Skyline drive to access Dinosaur Park. |
