VECTREN DAYTON AIR SHOW July 29, 2006
The US Navy Blue Angels are one of the world's best formation flying teams. Prior to the start of the airshow, the six jets(F-18 Hornets) are lined up near the taxiways for the famous and highly choreographed walk through by the pilots.
The #1 Jet is piloted by the "Boss", Commander Steve Foley (callsign "Axel"). The pilots for the Blues are selected after a rigorous interview process. The "Boss" is appointed by the Pentagon for a two year stint with the team.
I was able to isolate the #1 Jet near the taxiway before the show started.

Anand,
This is a nice crisp picture of the Blue Angels' plane. I enjoyed reading your note and learnt a thing or two about the Blue Angels. Beautiful colors and a beautiful bird. I like how you created the yellow and blue frame.
