Hi John!
Brrrrrrrr this looks very cold but fantastic.I`m dreaming of having views like this in Germany too,which was possible around christmas but unfortunatelly or better fortunatelly I was in Asia with plus 30 and more degree....
It`s a very good exposure and even with so many white the image has a good contrast.I like the few soft blue tones very much.

Cool shot, buddy. I can't really remember this specific spot (I was in the area in the summer of 1996) but I was on 281 and I'm sure I passed by here. I couldn't shoot snow if my life were depending on it... Well, you very obviously can! I love the view and the smooth contrast in this one!

Hallo John!
That's winter indeed! I'm a bit envious because winter here doesn't take place at all. I never have seen a hoarfrost like this. One can feel cold here. This tree was transformed into a wonderful sculpture.

Wonderful winter image with excellent lighting to highlight the beautiful forst encrusted tree and grass. The little bits of winter blue sky makes a brilliant contrast with the sharp white frost.

Branches are seems like crystal. You caught it excellently. I'm afraid to touch them for easy crack. I like it full in white, full in frame. Wonderful.

What a magnificent tree, under the white snow. It seems a dreamy subject. It's very beautiful how the sky let to see the blue color around the snowy tree, like a crown of light. Very nice management of colos and light!

Hi John,

very simple composition but very rich motive with beautiful background. Layers of tree top are marvelous and in great contrast to almost black trunk and branches and all together go so nicelly with this gentle blue sky. Most lovely and embracing capture.

Il y a juste un peu de bleu pour que la photo échappe au B&W. Mais ce bleu donne l'ambiance de la photo. Le givre décore la nature comme pour une fête mais le bleu du ciel donne la touche optimiste dans cette scène hivernale.

another superb shot, John, the tree looks more like a white coral, not a plant. I really like the contrast between the light wisps of clouds and distinct texture of the frozen snow, pure dream in white :) very well seen and presented.

Fascinating winter picture with just three colours...white, blue & black. I'm sure this would look even more beautiful with a clear blue sky. This scene is enough to send a cold wave down my spine (even though we are going through temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees, very cold in our Tropical standards) ..but what a beauty crafted by the frost & snow! This frost encrusted tree makes a nice contrast against the wispy blue and white sky, John. Technically very good, although I think thisn would have been better composed with the tree off-center (to the right maybe, as then it would be leaning into the frame). Cheers . . . David

You found a very charming sight, John. The tree looks like a character from fairy tales. Good camouflage, what with the white surroundings and clouds. I'm not sure whether the position of the subject is right - maybe too centered. Still, it is very nice.
