Photographer’s Note
...."Dorothy's Barn - VII"....
Grand Finale of the series - I was amazed that the quickly rising sun had such a impact on the face of the old barn, which is almost totally grey and weathered. The rising sun pickup what red paint that was left and the camera really showed it off.
This taken just minutes after the ...."Dorothy's Barn - VI"...., last weeks post that is within my gallery.
I was ask a few weeks ago if Dorothy every dreamed her barn would be on the Internet and accepted so well. I am not sure either Dorothy or I knew the barn would be accepted so very well and we thank all who have commented on this series.
The first time I stopped and ask Dorothy's if I could take pictures of her barn she smiled and said yes - because of all the pictures that have been taken of it you are the first to every ask permission. I told her that I would give her copies of any pictures that I ended up using, she said that would not be necessary and to have fun. After about the 3rd trip over to her place - she came out and was talking to my wife and said why did he do that and why would he want a picture like that. My wife said she was not sure - but - we will wait and see how they come out. The next trip Dorothy came out and told my wife that she thought she might be interested in seeing the images that I decided to use. So we made her a display of them. Even now she calls once in a while and tells us how much see enjoys ...."Dorothy's Barn".... on your living room wall.

Many thanks, to our neighbor, Dorothy, for letting me do this series on her property.

Thanks, so much, to everyone for looking in to my gallery and special thanks to all who leave thoughts, ideas and comments - Larry

Hello Larry,
If the barn looks grey and weathered it certaily got a nice tan from the sunrise.
The warm redbrown colours and the textures of the wood are wonderful and together with the red horizon create a nice atmosphere.
After this grand finale, we wonder what else can be found on Dorothy's domain.
Best regards from Belgium,
Paul

Good warm cold color contrasts between the red barn/ orange sky, & blue sky, with excellent sharpness, & saturation. Well composed, using the rule of thirds. Tfs!

Hi Larry,
As for the barne itself, this is one of the best shot that I can actually see the details and texture of the wood, rather than just a silhouette or close up. One more shot of the whole thing this series is nearly completed. thanks for all the efforts.

Bonjour Larry
Ces vieilles granges ont toujours un intérêt pour la photographe et photographier celle-ci devant un tel dégradé du ciel,ce n'est que du plaisir pour nos yeux.
Bonne journée

Hello Larry!
The beauty of loneliness and vastness!
The old barn - once more so wonderfully portraited by you - with those warm colors caused by the lights of the rising sun - is cleverly contrasted with the empty plains in the background!
Very suitable sharpness, correct exposure, very well chosen pov and superb composition are outstanding features in this image!
TFS - congratulations!
My warmest regards!

Larry, this one works for me, the sunlight makes all the difference and it really warms it up. I love the part about the owner not understanding what you were shooting, how often this is the case that those closest don't see the beauty in something. Good work.

Hello Larry,
A strong minimalist feeling to this one, a mood that is enhanced by the vast plains in the back where absolutely nothing seems to happen!
Wonderful warm sunset (sunrise?) colours work against the impression of decay...
I can see details in the architecture telling that this barn once was somebody's pride..!
Greetings,
Pablo -
