Photographer’s Note
...."Dorothy's Barn - I"....
Dorothy is our neighbor and this is her barn. Over the next few weeks I am going to develop the personality of this old barn for you. Inside and out and at different times of the day and different light. All images where taken during the month of February 2009.
...."Barn Window to the World".... (within my gallery) was taken from inside this barn.

Thanks, so much, to everyone for looking in to my gallery and special thanks to all who leave thoughts, ideas and comments. - Larry

I'm looking forward to the summer months when I can get out and find some more old barns :) I like this composition very much. Nice detail of the wood, and a pretty winter scene. TFS

Hi Larry,
These old barns always work good in composition were they stand alone in the landscape. Here the lack of warm colours bring a cold winter feeling above were spring just arrived here.
That tree on the right has a nice counter balance to the barn.

Henk

hi Larry
You take good advantage of the barn as a subject feature for this good composition of the farm and countryside scenery. Good work.

Hello Larry, we do not have barns like this in the U.K. so it is good to see the variety of barns that make such good subjects on T.E.
I like the space that you have decided to make a feature of your composition;it suggests the wide open spaces of your state.
The lonely little tree on the right keeps our eyes in shot and is useful being right at the edge of the frame.
I look forward to seeing more in the series.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Larry
I like this composition with the barn and tree at opposite ends of the image. The hint of blue in the sky really compliments the landscape well.

Larry,
This is a nicely composed shot of this old barn. Although it looks weather worn it still has good character. Your composition is fine placing the barn to one side and providing balance with the tree.

Bonjour Larry,
une compostion simple qui montre la rudesse des condtions de vie dans cet hiver froid. J'ai un peu des doutes sur le cadrage.
Best regards

Simple, yet the grezy of the barn fits well with the blue and white of the sky.
By the way, I expected that Dorothy's barn did not refered to your neighbour, but to another Dorothy who went to see the Wizard, the Wonderfull Wizard of Oz...
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hello Larry,
My eyes were captured by this original composition, where the excitement rises by the barn seen in relation to the tree!
Fine details in the old building, and I'm amazed to see the vast farmland stretching to eternity behind...

Hi Larry,
Beautiful stark image with the old weather beaten barn and it somber tones against the lovely soft blue sky and empty field.
The little bit of tree showing helps fill the lonely view.

Larry,
You manage to find really lovely POV and make a wonderful shot out of the cold snowy plain. I would have like to see the whole tree and more of the barn if not the whole thing, Perhaps if you move more to the right and have the tree in front of you and the barn in the background, You can include them both in the frame nicely. Other than that, it's still a good quality shot. Very nice.
Thanks.

Hello Larry,
very simple composition with a part of the old barn on the left and a part of the tree on the right. The simplicity fits very well to the cold and bleak conditions of weather and landscape. I like it.
Best wishes,

Hi Larry,
Very good choice of f/10 in getting the depth in this shot. The barn balances well with the leafless tree. Very good composition and TFS.
