Photographer’s Note
I call this "Progress", and I use the term loosely. This used to be a massive, sprawling forest, and now the only forest it contains is that of asphalt and shingles. It will be a sad day when this is all that is left.

I find this somewhat odd, because in my last visit to Omaha in 1994 I did not see any kind of forest there, or even nearby. Of course it is right in the middle of the central prairie grassland where there are not supposed to be any forest!
Do you have a photo of the forest that was here previously?

Same here, I grew up in Omaha, back then the only forest in the vicinty of this photo was the cornstalks.
