Photographer's Note

Here stands a land formation found in Western Nebraska not far from Chimney Rock and Scotts Bluff. This one is called Jail Rock and is adjacent to Courthouse Rock. Made of sandstone and clay, both formations rise over 400 feet above the valley, and are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. They are nearby to the Oregon-California Trail, the Mormon Trail, and the Pony Express Trail, and many travelers would walk several miles on foot to see these amazing structures, which are quite unique from the flat plains that most of the travelers were from.

I enjoyed the setting of the unique vegetation and wildflowers in the area mixed with the massive rock formations on this nice autumn day.
