Photographer’s Note
Here is yet another shot from Saturday evening on the "Delmar Loop". The sun was just hitting the horizon at this point and threw an awesome purple sky - no colors have been changed in this photograph, other than to make the white areas on the theater marquee a touch more white - they had a bit more yellow to them as shot. This was shot in raw, white balance set to "shade" which, of course, enhanced the effect of the purple sky.
I like this shot because of the street lights framing the theater and of course the sky. I cloned out one electrical wire, did a selective color change on the marquee, built the frame, re-sized and sharpened.
Sorry I haven't gotten to responding to any of the comments here in the past couple days, been busy at work and then went to the ball game last night. I haven't even looked at my personal e-mail since Tuesday! Anyway, I have time tonight to devote to TE, so I'll see you all then - thanks for all your comments, critiques and suggestions - they are appreciated!
Have a nice Easter if I don't see you!

Hi Reed,
I love this one! Besides the excellent framing, the incredible colors, and all the techniques you used to enhance it, it gives us a great sense of place with an interesting subject.

Reed,
This is a fine blue hour shot! Your composition is very good with the inclusion of the lampposts in the foreground which provide nice framing for the theater. The angle of the shot is great giving the scene nice depth and direction. The lighting and colors are fantastic with nice sharpness and detail.

Asa

Hi Reed,
great light here, I like the mixture of evening and artificial lights, it always gives me that "work is done and I can go home" mood!

Hi Reed, Beautifully composed, the two street lamps tight to the right & left are both in prime positions, its a gorgeous blue night sky & the TIVOLI sign is a wonderful focal point, a lovely picture, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Reed,
This is good, this is very good. The exposure is wonderful, but also the composition with that latarns on both sides is very clever composed. But look at that sky, such a beautiful gradient....truly wonderful.

Hi Reed,
Wow, a cracker of a shot, that graduated sky is something else, honestly, one of the best I've ever seen.
Pin sharp detail, the DOF carries all the way through the image.
Composition is also spot on, using the lamp posts to balance the vertical crop is superb.
I love the colours, the red in the Tivoli sign , the muted yellow from the street signs and of course that bloody wonderful sky.
Well mate, you've raised the bar with this capture, hope you've got a bag full of shots as good as this.
Cheers
Peter
