Photographer’s Note
Good morning and welcome to the Blues this Monday...
This image was captured at Blueberry Hill, a club/restaurant/venue in University City, Missouri. This REAL DEAL bluesman is Charlie Musselwhite (I'm getting all my links out early here). This show was in August of 2002 in The Duck Room, a place frequented by many a great rock n' roll and blues performer, including Chuck Berry and Lez Zeppelin (All girls, all Zeppelin, all the time), et al.
If you have not had the opportunity to experience the blues of Charlie Musselwhite and you love the blues, you will want to. See him live, if possible, because like bands such as The Grateful Dead, Phish and Captain Beefheart, he is best experienced in concert. He's a great entertainer and he will wear you out with his shows - he tends to jam and change his tunes and sometimes rock late into the night. If you cannot see him in concert, check out one or two or ten of his records - my favorites are "In My Time" and "Continental Drifter", but I like the country influenced "One Night in America" for the songs "Blues Overtook Me" and "Trail of Tears".
I have posted a clear shot of Charlie on TrekLens, last Monday some folks here said they preferred the grittier versions of the blues photos, so I'll post this one here. I have a few more decent blues photographs, but I plan to look for some shows so I can replenish my stock and practice a bit with the D300. I shot these with my dad's old Olympus C3030Z - not a bad camera at all.
I hope you all like this one. If you are ever in St. Louis, even for one night, you will want to check out Blueberry Hill. Joe Edwards, owner & proprietor of this place and other fine establishments in The Delmar Loop (ok, a couple more links), will ensure you have an enjoyable evening. You can call me, too, and I'll come over for a cold, frosty beverage!
Thanks for having the blues with me this Monday morning!

Hi Reed,
It indeed is different from the previous one. He seems to have some special aura, maybe that impression comes from the intense red tone. But I guess it's not so beneficial that background lights are sharper. Presentation style is highly subjective matter, I have tried both clear and gritty.
