October, Stone Path, & Sky

Superior Hiking Trail
Duluth, Minnesota

The Superior Hiking Trail is a relatively new trail system in Minnesota .. 205 miles of the trail follow the ridge line of Lake Superior running form the town of Two Harbors up through the numerous state parks along the North shore of Lake Superior. Another 39 miles of trail run through forested areas in the city of Duluth connecting many of the cities existing large parks and trails .. the 30 miles of trail connecting the Duluth system to Two Harbors are currently under construction.

I found this little bit of the trail after making a wrong turn out on a drive .. it is just a few minutes from my house and a beautiful walk high on a hillside covered in aspen, birch, and maple ..

A very nice autumnal scene. I was at the Nature Centre myself today enjoying the antics of the ducks. The nature cenre is in the middle of Albuquerque, along the Rio Grande and very well visited.
I really like the compo and the colours.
Great sky and lighting.

nice view, the POV shows some nice prespective and you've got good colours. may be the contrast is a little high??

Love how the moss has permenately stained the rock trail that is so beautifully framed by the brilliant orange and yellow that compliment the lovely blue sky and wispy clouds.
Fine depth, sharpness and clear colors to this beautiful vertical presentation.

Hello John -

This is a nice image showing us the beautiful fall colors of the north land. The one thing that I feel that makes this image less than top notch is a strong leading line. The trail is really indistinct and takes away a bit from the image.

Hi John,
I really like the way the clouds seem to continue the angle of the tree branches and run parallel to the hillside. The blue sky contrasts with the fall colors well.

This is a very beautiful photo. The autumn colors are great with excellent texture. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The partly cloudy sky provides excellent contrast for the autumn colors.

The delicate autumn colours mix well what is left of greenery!
The rugged path makes a fine lead-in to the landscape, and the veil of clouds seems to enhance the lines in the landscape...

Olá John, beautiful vertical framing in wide angle. The colors are stunning and the path sure calls for me...sometimes the wrong ways are the best ones ;-) The light on the sky wasn't perfect but you manage very well the situation.

This is one of your specialities: paths seen from the PoV of the walker. This is a wonderful image, very wisely and tidily composed. I like the beautiful Autumn colours (of course!) and how everything seems to converge in the point where the path goes into the forest.
