Looking out toward Lake Michigan from the drawbridge in downtown Charlevoix.
While much of Lake Charlevoix and the Lake Michigan coastline are frozen solid with nearly 2 ft. of ice, the Pine River, which connects Lake Charlevoix and Round Lake to Lake Michigan is ice-free.
Northern facing slope (left) has snow, while the snow has melted on the bank with southern exposure (right).
Wish I had gotten another photo further left on the bridge, which shows the water ending a few hundred yards into Lake Michigan and giving way to ice. |
