[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is my entry into the ever-growing sunset/sunrise genre on TE.
-----
Driving along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan one late afternoon, I came into the very nice small town of Petoskey, where I noticed a roadside sign saying "Sunset Park". So assuming someone had put that sign there for a reason, I came back a little later, and was treated to a really beautiful instance of the park's namesake.
-----
Repost of a formerly posted image. I made the following changes/improvements (or so I hope):
- re-scanned slide
- removed some dust/specks
- slightly increased saturation
- sharpened twice
- ran through NeatImage once

I usually get bored from sunsets and sunruses, but from time to time there are some amazing ones. I do't think this is one of them, norbert, but I do think there's a lot of potential here. I think that one of the secrets in sunset/sunrise is the PS work, adjisting levels and colors. So I played with your photo, and I think that in better processing this is a great great photo. I made a PS, just as example of how it can be done, but I'm sure that it can be much better from the hands of other sunsets phptographers.
Keep on trying, Norbert.

I'm glad you returned to that park for this picture. The sunset you were treated to that night was spectacular. Well done.

Oh, YES, another sunset, Norbert. A very good entry.
Sunrise/sunset - why not? Glad about/sad about - expression of feelings. Atracted from light, from fire/warm.
Your >>usual botanical foreground

Here, I am very interested by the method of doing a good scan. Why have re-scannded? You have a new scanner? Also the picture is very nice. This sky is amazing. Well done, Norbert!

I declare a sunset-fan.
Although it is a trivial subject, the natures gives its best at that time and from time to time (like this one) is a true celebration....

Terrific atmosphere and colors. I keep debating in my mind about the street lamps, particularly the one toward the bottom right of the frame... but nonetheless still love this.

very nice sky, but no colors reflected on to the lake?

Perfect sunset. well done

No matter, I like all kind of skies and sunsets. This one its very good. Seems like that its burning the sky. Wonderful combination between grey and 'burning' clouds. Its a good sharpness for the scan. I did not think, that on the lakes could be so beautiful sunset too.

I have to confess, that your cute title made me open the thumbnail immediately! :-D For I am not a great fan of sunsets...BUT this one is really something! The dramatic sky as if in flames, the lead colour of the waters and shore in distance, the dark silhouettes of the trees, and the white lamp in foreground - just fantastic!
