Photographer’s Note
I like how the reflected clouds are aligned with the clouds behind the building to give a see-through effect.
This is the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in downtown Grand Rapids. The original hotel, The Pantlind, was built in 1913 and the lobby contained one of the world's largest gold-leafed ceilings. It was refurbished and the new tower was built in the early 1980s. Guests can stay in the modern tower or in the historic section which is still decorated with "crystal and gilt" and period furniture.

This is nice, Mike. Very sharp and crisp shot. I like the way the road and the lines on the road lead into the shot. Great clouds and of course a very interesting effect of the reflection on the building. The ute is a good addition.

Splendid effect Mike - looks like a scene from one a futuristic movies in which solid matter slowly disappears. I would prefer a tighter crop, excluding most of the road in the front, but it's good as is as well.

Wow... genial captura Mike.
El efecto de reflexion de las nubes, realmente crea una atmósfera de transparencia del edificio.
Excelente perspectiva, suaves y atinados colores y muy buen encuadre.
Bravo!.

This is an impressive capture. Very crisp. The sky is particularly excellent here. It gives this entire scene very clean and modern feel. The lack of traffic gives it a bit of a haunting feel. It reminds me of the times I've been to Grand Rapids. I'm starting to wonder if anyone actually does live there. Perhaps only this individual walking. ;) Nice shot, though. Great contrast between the old and new. And great capture of the reflection. Seems like a distortion on the sky rather than a building. Well done.

A good eye to notice the "invisible" feature of this building. The composition of the image is great with the lines leading towards the building and then up towards the clouds.
