Photographer’s Note
This is the Sixth Street bridge over the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. The black and white photo makes it look a bit desolate, but it's usually a busy place.

Hi Donna,
Whenever there is some mist in a Black n white shot, the shot becomes mysterious.
The eyes start looking for some life in it, may be the compositon becomes somewhat scary and we want to have interaftion with a fellow human being.
The light at the far end of the bridge brings some solace to the mind and the metal structure on the right ensures that everything will be allright if I start moving from this end to the other end.
Thogh the tones attract me but the misty atmoshphere scares me; this is the beauty of your shot.
Regards,
Rajeev

I like the lack of people here... Although, I suppose, one trench coated person walking along would fit in very well. It makes me think of some sort of cold war spy spot in Eastern Europe. The haze adds to the mysteriousness. I wonder what slightly different point of views would do here, too. Maybe lower giving a more broad and distorted perspective? And perhaps trying to crop out or get rid of the space between the railing post and the edge of the frame? But it certainly does have a mood to it in this black and white treatment that you did a good job of getting across.
