Photographer’s Note
Well, here is something orange. I know. Flowers. Not very original. But the other orange shots just weren't as orange as this so I had to choose this one for the hunt.
These are some of the flowers outside the Cotswold Cottage also in Greenfield Village and across the path from the Farris Windmill and Dagget Farm. The cottage is surrounded by a beautiful garden with many beautiful flowers. Don't ask me the kinds of flowers because I only know the basic rose/carnation/sunflower type of plants. All I know was they all were beautiful colors like these orange ones.
The Cotswold Cottage is probably the oldest building in Greenfield Village and is the only foreign building. It was built in the early 1600s in Chedworth, Cloucestershire, England. The family that lived here worked as farmers and stone masons.
Of course many Cotswold style cottages are found in England. And in nearby Grosse Pointe Shores Henry Ford's son, Edsel Ford, built his mansion in a Cotswold style.

Good capture for the hunt, Paul: the picture is in the spirit of TE because there is something orange but with a building that has a history. The composition is perfect: the big flowers in foreground lead sweetly our eyes to the old Cotswold Cottage. A pity that sky (I have often this problem of the white sky).

One thing I don't understand from your note: was the more than 300 years old cottage brought here from England? Your wonderful low PoV gives the picture a wild and beautiful, English garden type of feeling. Wonderful composition.
Indee, a pity that sky.

Nice ORANGE entry... You're being too hard on yourself with the title... :) Things do add up well in this photo, and it looks like a very nice scene. The low angle was a good choice as well.

Une bien jolie symphonie de Lis qui valorise cette vieille maison aux pierres de couleur ocre.
Angle original de prise de vue Paul.
Merci encore pour la note toujours très intéressante Paul.
A very beautiful symphony of Lily which values this old house in stones of ochre colour.
Original angle of recording Paul.
Thank you still for the note always very interesting Paul.

Hi Paul, great one for the hunt, there's this abundance of flowers, Lilies BTW, if you ask me, and the chosen PoV, goes very well with it. Beautiful cottage, too. Well seen!

Very nice capture, Paul. Good pov and combination with the old house and great orange color. As far as I know the flowers are "tiger lilies" (looked up for translation). There used to be a lot of them as wild flowers in our region on the meadows beneath the mountains, but too many have been cropped.

I love this beautiful organic feast of colours and criss-crossing lines, Paul. The backdrop of the cottage works fine - due to the relatively shallow DoF it doesn't distract and just adds balance. Fine entry for the hunt. Very nice job.

You win! (In the "all I could find was orange flowers, from ground level" category) :oD I still prefer my darker clouds to your white sky, but I really like your "cacaphony" of orange lilies! You captured nice details, and even the idea of wind blowing. Well done to include the cottage, and your good notes. :o)

Very beautiful sight on this field of flowers, Paul. The sharpness is rendered to the foreground very well (the whole area of the flowers). Maybe with a speed control to 1/160s or less, you would have benefitted from a better depth of field (for the cottage).
Notes about Greenfield Village are very rich too.

The shape of the flowers really correspond to the word "cacophony", Paul. And the impression of the sheer amount caught in that low angle is very good. They stand well against the more orderly masonry and stained glass window of this beautiful old cottage. High on the right side is one flower I would have tried to clone out. Great job - well done!
Your reply about the cottage being shipped over reminds me of yet another remarkable mill, being the biggest in Scandinavia. It was dismantled at the Swedish mainland in 1885 and shipped over to the island Öland off the east coast, where it was rebuilt. Today a restaurant with it's own airfield!

This is really awesome...getting english look & feel outside England. A huge work and certainly not cheap. Very nice view on this house indeed, I like the low angle you choosed here. Warm, bright and beautiful orange, excellent overall contrast too. An great add to the hunt and a very interesting note. Fine job Paul.

Very nice shot Paul and good choice for the Hunt! I like the angle and the flowers are ''magnifiques'', I like these type and it suit very well with your backgroung. Too bad about that sky though, It's missing color.

Photo avec en premier plan de jolies couleurs orangées, qui font ressortir la maison qui se trouve au second plan.

Wonderful lily field in front of this beautiful stone house. I really like the composition and the POV. The DOF is very good and gives a good 3D aspect to the picture. The general shape of the house is interesting and unusual. Well done !
