Photographer’s Note
A perfect day for an afternoon at the park! What more could you ask for? Grey skies, soggy grass and picnic tables in murky water and a bright play area with slides leading right into that water for a water park experience!
This view is from the opposite side of the park in relation to my previous post. Through the bridge, to your right of the yellow play area, and on the far side can be seen the hill I was standing on. If you look carefully at the large version of the previous post you can spot some picnic tables piling up in different areas in the center.
All this water has receded now leaving a soggy messy area that will be the gathering point for our Memorial Day Parade next week. We are on the brink of breaking the record for the wettest May ever recorded here after coming out of the driest April ever recorded.
And I didn't know they could measure this but apparently the weather reporter stated, using radar and other figures, an estimated 200 billion gallons of rain fell on the area in the last four days. I thought that was a pretty impressive figure for just thinking about how much water is in the sky.

It is a swimming pool! On this may wether wasn't good also in Italy, but for me is better: when I work I prefer fresh air. This photo could go on newspaper as a document.

Great capture, Paul. The sky is overcast, but due to the reflections in the big puddles your pic is very bright - nice. The compo is nice, the picnic benches and the poles give a nice sense of depth and direction and flag the existence of a path under the water. The colours are spot on. This is another very fine docushot- nice mini series!

Les pluies diluviennes arrivent également en France créant d'importantes inondations entraînant des catastrophes naturelles.
C'est impressionnant, avec les deux photos publiées, nous pouvons comparer.
Merci pour la note explicative Paul.
Bien fait.
The pouring rain also arrives to France creating of significant floods involving of the natural disasters.
It is impressive, with the two photographs published, we can compare.
Thank you for the explanatory note Paul.
Well done.

I like this shot of tables in a pond. What I miss here is a boat to take me there. The idea of picnic in a middle of a lake is interesting. Very good shot.

Hi Paul, this is gonig to be a very wet picnic. I like the setting, and the composition is good, and it seems to be a nice day now. I can recognise the bridge. This is beginning to look like a serial in the daily paper. Is it gone by now?

Hi Paul,
some days we just don't get the ordinary subject ! This is cool taken with a good eye for the composition I like how more than one object is repeated until the background, good work. Yours, Jan
P.S.: Am going to see "The day after tomorrow" today, will think of this picture then.

I agree with Carlos, you just need a boat for that kind of picnic. A real documentary value shot, very well composed with a nice perspective and even humour! Excellent note as usual. If I was living there I would sell umbrellas ;-). Very well catched and presented Paul.

Le titre ironique me fait sourire, pour s'attabler, il faut chausser des hautes bottes.
Bonne composition originale.
The ironic title makes me smile, to sit at table, it is necessary to fit high boots. Good original composition.
