Photographer’s Note
Recently we've had several storms one after another come through the area. Two of them delayed me in posting the previous photo I uploaded. That was because of the lightning activity all around the area.
But it was rain that was the main problem of these storms. In one place 3 inches fell in 45 minutes which in a paved urban area causes flash flooding. Eventually all the water ends up in the larger creeks and then rivers such as the Rouge River seen here.
This is the approximately the same place as another photo I took recently. This is on the grounds of Henry Ford's mansion and to see how the current state compares to the normal state take a look at the photo "The Fall". I couldn't quite get the exact shot since where I was standing for the other one is now underwater.
Although this is probably the worst I have seen it it has been far worse. If I had been standing in this spot in the 1947 flood I would have been completely underwater with water to spare above me.

Knowing your 'the fall' picture you can really see that this creek has quite a volume of water to cope with. But also not knowing it, the force and vehemence is clearly on display here. I like the way you both captured the flow and cascade aspect of the water - both are rendered beautifully and very dynamic.
So, congrats with your 100th shot, Paul, it's a very nice one!

Histoire très intéressante Paul. Superbe prise de vue rendant bien la force de l'eau. Le bouillonnement de l'écume ressort très bien.
Très belle composition. Couleurs très naturelles.

That's really an amazing volume of water! Knowing "The fall" picture, that's really impressive. You did it really great here as one feels very well this power. That's perfectly composed and rendered. Excellent note again, as the good writer you are too. Thanks for sharing Paul.

Quite a difference with the other picture, Paul. At first I did not know exactly what I saw, It was brown, and there was asome refelction. and then I saw it was a huge amount of water. Impressive picture, whih is nicely framed in a natural way.

Impressive, Paul. Comparison with your previous shot tells it all. This has turned the stepped fountain-like fall into a "dam-burst". It's a great impact in the image with the floating surface and the cascade at the limestone side. Well captured with a nice exposure setting and nicely composed with the twigs hanging down from above and the limestones framing the right side. I also like the low POV, although I believe this one to have a small tilt CW, but somehow the twigs conceal this. Well done!
