ahhh well first photo posting since having returned to the US. Kansas. SO what else could I post but a big red barn. so very very Kansasish... right out of the kents farm in smallville. the people next door had horses in their front yard....
well I was out driving around and I came across a stereo typical red midwest barn. I had to be someplace but I remembered where the location was and drove out there a few days later. I drove up to knock on the door of the house to ask if I could take pictures and well the house was abandone. whahoo! all the pics i want. So I snapped off a few. Well this was actualy what i think was a horse stable. the barn was about 50 yards behind me and to the left. Im sure Ill be posting some pictures of that sometime here soon |

Boof, you have an amazing collection of exotic lenses :-)
Very good lighting in this pic, you did well to notice it when you were out. In particular I like the contrast of the red barn against the snow, and the fact that the snow has taken on some of the yellowish colour of the sun.

I love the bold, saturated colors in this image, and the palpable warmth of the sun (sunrise?). The vast expanse of the snow and sky balance each other in the frame, and the barn makes a great centerpiece. You can feel that this place is deserted, but it still has a lot of character.
This image is very effective in conveying a sense of place...and makes me damn glad I live in California.
Great light and nice red barn. I like the composition with a lot of snow in front of the barn. Thre is some kind of pattern in the snow that directs our eyes straight to the barn.
great colors contrast and nice composition. I like the wide snow part, but I think majenta could be removed in white. I made a WS.
