The heat haze is a good capture! What does it look like in a tighter crop - perhaps with just the track and bridge in the distance? Or, perhaps just outside of the boom-gates?

This might tighten up the image, and define a central element?

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. I like this one better than your crop. You mentioned it was a dull photo in your other post. I don't think this is dull at all and I like the way it is framed by the crossing lights. Of course I love anything to with trains so I could be biased. Seems we have a lot in comon. Ohio, trains, and Olympus C-2100
