| Reminders of times past dot the countryside in Kansas. This old grain elevator and many like it have been replaced by enormous "prairie skyscrapers"... corporate-owned grain elevators constucted of concrete and steel, and visible for miles across the flat landscape. The largest grain elevator in the world is in Hutchinson,KS, and has the capacity to store over 18,000,000 (eighteen million) bushels. This remnant of the past here stands in Bucyrus,KS and appeared to still be operable. |

Larry,
Good shot! Well captured, sharp and colorful, and a shot of something of Americana.

Hi Larry,
The composition is nice .. your point of view looking up works well .. I think the time of day works as well .. the shadows falling on the elevator are great .. wish the sky had a few clouds just to liven things up .. I have often thought about doing a whole series of these on one of my visit homes .. nice to see one.
take care,
John
