Elk Horn's Danish windmill was built in 1848 in Norre Snede, Denmark. This mill and others like it in Denmark and throughout Europe were used to grind grain into flour for farmers in neighboring communities.
On February 4, 1976 the pieces of the mill arrived from Denmark. The reconstruction project was long and tedious. Over 300 volunteers showed their support for this project by lending a hand in the work. Because of this support, no hired help was required.

Hi Henryk,
Good simple shot. Nice compo. Even though the mill is in the middle, we get houses on each side to compensate. Good initiative. Good colors and clearness too. I'm wondering what it would have looked like if you had moved well to your right and a bit to your back to take this shot, and in an angle (small counter clockwise rotation). I mean with the house on the right in the clear foreground, the house on the left in the clear middleground (?) and the mill in the background. That way, you would still get all the elements that are in your shot right now, and you would probably get rid of the branches on the left, which come out of nowhere, and might be a bit "too much".
I hope what I'm trying to suggest is at least a bit clear.
Good work. Keep 'em coming.
Louis
Belle lumière et jolie composition. Personnellement, je regrette un peu de voir le patrimoine européen s'envoler de plus en plus vers les USA et ce moulin était certainement beaucoup plus beau dans son environnement originel....
Amicalement
