This photograph was taken on a calm day at DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in Nebraska and Iowa. I utilized a 2 stop grad filter and a polarizing filter to enhance the reflection of the setting sun.

Awesome. Although I find that strange shape at bottom left a bit distracting. I would have cropped that out. Otherwise perfect!

Wow, très belle photo. Les couleurs sont très belles. L'environnement est très paisible!

Wonderful, Derrald!
Impressive landscape, colours and composition!
I agree with the first critique, without the piece of wood at bottom left it would have been perfect!
Anyway, what's perfection? ..perhaps imperfection..

Congratulazioni,
Regards,

Andrea.

Hello Derrald,
Very nice exposure : the colors in fire are very well seen !. I like the composition with the old tree on the right. I disagree wit fijiphil about cropping. the stone on the left give all the dimension to the photo.
Thanks for sharing,
Congratulations,
Nicole

The balance of lighting and colours are spectacular. Good sharpness too.

Beautiful sunset. I'm not sure about the original composition in comparison to the workshop. I really like the way the branches in the bottom right point the viewer to the main subject. I'm not sure about the rock in the bottom left. On the one hand it also acts as a pointer, but on the other it can be considered as a distraction. On balance I think I prefer the original, but it's a close run thing :-)
The colours in the branches are superb.

really unusual colors but which make a very good mix. A very good compostion too, withthe use of the piece of wood pointuing toward the small breach between the tree.

Emmanuel

Hi Derrald,

Great shot! The vivid colours of the sky are amazing and the reflection in the lake is stunning. I also like the silhouetted trees against the vibrant sky. The logs in the foreground are a great addition and that fact that you can see the rocks through the water is also great. Great work, Derrald!

Greetings,
Ann

Hello Derrald,
Great photo, full of strong colors and reflexions on water. I love the compo and this cuted horizon lines on the background.
Well done.
Paulo

This is a fantastic photo Derrald, The combination of the colours in the background, the light and detail on the logs, and the ability to see the bottom of the lake through the water, make this a winner. I'm not too sure about the rock sitting proud of the water in the bottom left corner, it spoils the clean lines of the comp, but if you crop to remove it, then you loose the lake bed and some of the logs. I've done a WS to show how it looks with the rock cloned out. A lovely peice of work.
Alex.

Great shot.

Yet is it another sunset, this one is still original probably because of the stick cutting the reflection and the water. I like it very much. Bravo!
Isabelle

What a beautiful shot, amazing colours and a really top composition, I am very impressed. You capture a fantastic mood here. The filters make such a difference, as does your clever pp
cheers, David

Hi Derrald,

This is a verry nice photo, I like the warm colors. The branches that hang over the water make for a depth in the image.
