Many old, vacant, and deteriorating schools dot the countryside in the American midwest. This one is in Indiana along Hiway #1 50 miles south of Fort Wayne. One wonders what sort of life experiences took place here.

Hi Bernie,
nice composition of this old school. I've been living in the US for a few years now, and something that surprises me is the amazing number of vacant buildings in small towns and rural areas.
The quality of this picture is not the best, colors are a little washed out, and sharpness is not very good; is it a scan? You posted it as taken with a digital rebel xt, but also taken in 2001; and as xt is a 2005 model (if I'm not wrong), I guess that it was taken with another camera.
Anyways, nice composition,
Regards,
Daniel
