Photographer’s Note
The trumpet player from BB King's Band.... I saw them tonight at Purdue University and it was amazing.
The band has played in over 90 countries so I figured that warranted a post on trekearth.
For me, this photograph is unique because this is one of only a handful of photos that I have taken where the medium is in black and white. Also, as you will see from my profile, most of my pictures are of landscapes and not of people. I want to do more portraits, as I find facial expressions and the emotions that relate to them extremely remarkable.
I hope you enjoy, let me know what you think

A most wonderful catch, Alan.
Being a music buff myself, nothing can please my eyes more than that beautiful conglomerate of great photography and music.
Hey! With a bit of imagination - one can hear that high note trumpet glissando coming out of your picture.
Certainly.. I can !
Thanks, pal and g'night.

I like the b/w. But I see that the focus not on his face but hand and the trumpet. I am not sure that you do that intentionally. But still its a pleasing potrait.

this is probably the best use of black and white...musicians at play. the meduim really brings out their expression, mood and beauty. whats more is that black people are also the best photographed in B&w their brillient skin tones really come out and turn a normal image into a master piece like this.only thing to add would probably be a white frame to bring out theimage more. well done

Hi Alan,
Looking at your gallery I noticed that you are more for landscapes and nature, but I must say that you should get more involved in portraits, because the few I say are really good. This trumpet player is my favourite.
Enjoy your holiday in Europe and don't forget to post your work;)))
Regards from Italy.

Yes i enjoy it Alan
It is great, and the B+W was the way to go, if only the face was a tad sharper....
