[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The union opened its doors on February 5th, 1941. The building was modeled after the traditional colonial architecture from Williamsburg, Virginia. Its original purpose was to "erect a building which would be not only a distinguished social center, open to all students, faculty, and alumni, but also to inspire those who use it with the best traditions of our early American way of life." The union is one of the busiest buildings on the Illinois campus and is home to the over 1000 student organizations that exist at Illinois. The Illini Union also contains a hotel, numerous study lounges, a bowling ally, pool hall, computer lab, art gallery, bank, food court, arcade room, and a branch of McKinley Health Center.

This picture was taken looking over the Main Quad from the steps of Foellinger Auditorium at the beginning of autumn.

This was my first picture on this site. I have learned a lot since I joined so I decided to repost. I made the colors better by increasing saturation and exposure. I also centered the photo by cropping it a little.
