Seagulls traipsing on the surf ... they were waiting for the surf to come up ... probably because there was food brought by the fresh surf - Lake Michigan, Chicago, IL.

Tech: contrast masking and sharpening to bring out the reflections more.

Very nice pic , Ken .
Let me say about strong elements in your shot :
*Semi horizontal line of the birds.
*The posture of second-right bird & its position in frame :)
*The shape & color of the stones & water.
*The nice reflection of the birds.
But : I think about a bit cropping of bottom,may be ,it could be better,therefor,The line of birds will shift a bit down.
And : you composed all excellent.

This is a g reat capture Ken. To bad it got a litel bit over exposed but hsi si still very nice. Your compo and the way they seem to follow eachother on a line is really great. The structure of the sand is beautifull.
