Photographer's Note

Labor Day 2005, Montrose Beach, Chicago. Labor Day marks the end of the summer season in Chicago's beaches. This year, the temperatures during Labor Day weekend were in the nineties (Fahrenheit), perfect summer weather to spend in the beach, so I headed to Montrose to catch some rays, the last tan of the summer. These kids were near where I was, on the breakwaters, enjoying the sun and the view. This moment is what summer memories are made of. It was a magical moment. They sat there for awhile, just in time for me to catch this photograph. Then they left.
