a couple of months ago I saw a photo on TE of firefighters in the US which reminded me I had similar photos taken on a visit to Chicago in December 1978. I had been staying at the YMCA & it was a Sunday morning as I wandered down South Wabash (according to my diary) when I came upon a building that was well ablaze with several firetrucks attending. I was able to take several photos - the only ones, in fact, that I have taken of a building ablaze. It was a cold morning & water from the hoses was freezing as it ran down the building. The picture was taken with Kodak slide film on a Pentax K1000 and has been digitised. Hope you find this picture from my archives interesting.

A very dramatic capture, good angle taking in the fireman on the turntable ladder.

It is great reportage photography. Though the incident is unfortunate, the colors and details in the image are excellent. You positioned yourself perfectly.
Really a good one from your archive. Tfs,
