This is during some free throws, when Indiana came to Illinois in 2008. All the fans wear orange.
Built in 1963 and designed by Max Abramovitz, the $8.7M building is one of the world’s largest edge-supported structures. Although it’s well-known that Assembly Hall hosts the Fighting Illini men’s and women’s basketball teams, bands such as The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and U2 have also played shows there, making it one of the premiere concert venues on campus.
Assembly hall is a hard place to photograph because the seats are reflected by light reflecting off the ceiling, while the court is directly lit. |
