Chicago's Brookfield Zoo was blessed with a new Gorilla on May 2nd, 2005. Here, the young gorilla, Bakiri gets a ride out of the exhibit on the back of his mother, Binti.
The gorilla species is the Western Lowland Gorilla, an endangered species that Brookfield Zoo has been a leader in caring for (amongst their accomplishments include performing brain surgery on one gorilla and poineering a double hip replacement and physical therapy for Beta, a 43 year old female).
