Zanskarís winter, a season of ferocity, demands that men return to primal ways for survival. First among them is food. Following their ancestorsí footsteps, men from the far-flung village of Zanskar, set out on a 12-day march across a frozen river to Leh to bring back food and fuel that will keep their families alive through five months of winter. The crossing is dangerous and the only constant company, people say, is death.

the guy in the shot looks like he is walking on running water, which i guess he is.

If the ice breaks this guy is in real trouble.
I like the feeling of motion going on under the ice. The leg positino of the man is perfect and I like the unusual colors of green and red at the bottom of the photo.
