Glasnevin cemetary is situated in North Dublin, Ireland, and is the final resting place to over 1.1 million people.
Many famous figures from Irish history are buried here including political leaders, religious leaders, activists, poets, and of course the wealthy.
The cemetary is a trove of monuments of all kinds, including celtic crosses, elaborate carved statues, crypts, tombs and probably most famous, the huge round tower in memory of Daniel O Connell.
Today there is also a brand new museum and interpretive centre which tells the history of Irelands Necropolis.
Pictured here is one of the elabroate tombs, which despite looking quite cathedral like, is only large enough to house a few people inside. For scale, the height to the tip of this monument is approximately 15 feet.

ben inquadrata e slanciata verso il bellissimo cielo.
Curiosa la balaustra che lascia passare i montanti in cemento al di fuori del recinto.

Although I'm not too fond of cemeteries, that one seems to be quite interesting!
I loved your note!
The picture is truly attractive!
Level of sharpness, exposure, colors, chosen pov, vertical format, simple but effective composition are all excellent and certainly pleased me a lot!
TFS - congrats,

The Celtic cross in the background helps us to identlify the location. The "cathedral" is well framed by the cross and the tree and the light and colours are fine. The picture is accompanied by a well written and interesting note. I am always curious of the mind of people deciding to spend eternity in a tomb like this. They must hold themselves in extremely high esteem. I find it psychologically very interesting.

Absolutely gorgeous Architecture. I have never seen anything like this in a cemetery, so beautiful and gothic. I take it this is a tomb where someone famous or rich was laid to rest.
You've presented this photo perfectly and with great care to details, such as awesome colors and excellent light management. Clarity is superb even in the shaded areas. I love your POV here Noel, great job!!

Hello dear Noel
I remember going to Glasnevin to visit the grave of one of your greatest (and my favourite) writers, Brendan Behan. Your photo convinces me that I should have brought a camera. Wow, this impressive. Does it belong to just one person, or to a whole family? It's very beautiful, and you've picked up the details superbly. Fantastic colours, great POV and exquisite sharpness. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your Friday!

This is a well composed shot showing the tomb from an angle that allows us to see more than one side of the building. The tree provides excellent framing for the shot. The lighting is great as is the color and sharpness.

I never saw in my life such a huge tomb for VIP souls!
You captured the best of it with fine details in highlights as well as in shaded areas.
It looks more elaborate than those set in Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris.
Thanks for showing this amazing piece of architecture.

Beautiful tomb looking like a small cathedral. You have captured it very well showing this beautiful architecture where famous people laid to rest. Your note is very informative. If and when I visit Ireland, I would like to see this one.

O.K., what are the odds of now seeing two burial monuments in the shape of a pyramid...guess I got a little ahead of myself! Well, I would say this is a loose translation of a pyramid, but one none the less. This is rather fascinating to me, not something I'm accustomed to seeing very often. Most of the cemeteries in the region where I live are boring compared to these. Boring in the sense of photography anyway, they still hold the same meaning and semblance of reverence. You really caught a bright, sunny day for this one and chose another angle that really shows it's dimension and intricacies. This may be an odd detail, but I really like that you included the large cross in the background, it just feels to fit perfectly for this composition. Amazing that over a million people have been laid to rest on these grounds!
