Early last year, I met and photograph this very expressive old woman in Ayutthaya. She was one of the villagers in this place where these Thai traditional art are made.
I was impressed by the disposition of this old woman. She's unafraid, unashamed, unreserved.
She made known her desire to be photographed. I made known my desire to photograph.
I clicked over 30 shots of her, some I already had posted last year. Here's one more. I hope our everyday will be as SUNNY as hers!

Very nicely done, Manyy's business as usual I'd be tempted to say, however I was specially impressed with the lens rendition and sharpness. I checked and clicked on the lens, the few shots you made with it seemed to outperform any other Nikon glass contender.. did you notice that before? It's quite weird because this is a budget range zoom though with a better rendition than many other lenses. Coupling a Digital camera with a specific lens comes to question the gearheads...
A further question: as you've seen in the trekprojects part of the forum, shots taken from the Andaman coast area are needed for a calendar project, do you have such to upload from your archives?

Beautiful portrait of the cheerful old woman, Manny. It's really a joy to watch her expression, and the posture with her tilted head as well as the colorful piece of craft that she plays with make for an interesting frame. Well done.

L'homme aux mille portraits ! J'aime vos photos Manny, vous faites toujours passer une émotion. Pour réussir de telles photographies, il faut qu'il y ait une complicité tacite entre le personnage et vous.
Photo réussie au plus haut point.
Very well done.

The expression of her face is so wonderful, like she enjoys every single thing of the life.. I like the tight crop you use here with a great composition. the colors of the Thai art are really nice and put the "color touch" to the shot.
Beautiful one :)

What a sweet note. And what absolutely perfect TE material. In fact, this phot suddenly reminded my of my early youth when I subscribed to National Geographic Magazine, and the hotos I used to see there of interesting corners of the world. And I guess it is both subject and quality that triggered that memory.

A new type of advertising for "the land of smile"

This is excellent Manny. A completely candid looking shot, although from your notes, she is quite aware of your presence. Very nice colors and I think a very good composition. I think this is one of your better shots, primarily because she is alive and doing something. A lot of life to this shot.
Bisou (55) 2013-10-31 6:39
