Kievan Caves Monastery captured from the cruise ship just from Dnjepr river.

At the beginning of the 11th Century founded by Yaroslav the Wise, Christian hermits are living here to be close to God. The Cave Monastery was the first and largest religious center of the Kievan Rus'. In 1688 it got the the title "Lavra". In addition, it played a prominent role in the spiritual life and in the development of Slavic culture and science. Today, the monastery has more than 70 buildings. There are two cave complexes and underground cave churches

Hi Achim,

The buildings are framing well the monastery. The point of view is showing woth precision the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings and of the monastery. The morning light is giving nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

Bonjur Achim,
un ciel un peu bruité et c'est dommage, mais les lumières n'étaient pas faciles. Jolies couleurs naturelles qui permettent entre autres de bien rendre les dorures des dômes, le soleil aide beaucoup.

The stair leads us to the wonderful church of Nossa Senhora da Vitoria.
A wonderful white church with three towers.

this photo caught from the ship cruise is fantastic, and has a great sharpness in spite of the distance from your POV.
I like this wonderful architecture, with the golden domes and the buildings of the monastery, that they appear in the middle of the trees, offering us a great graphical contrast and a few magnificent colors. The composition is harmonic and very attractive.

The gold dome at right stands out well against the wonderful blue sky. Nice symmetry with the smaller & lower gold domed churches at left with the green roofs. Good sharpness & well composed. Tfs!

The monastery buildings with the golden spires look good against the blue sky. Nice colours in good light! Well done! I was wondering about the quality of this picture compared to your standards, and then saw it being shot with a IXUS with high zoom.
