Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This morning, I am posting a photograph of a lovely, old house in the nearby village of Winewall. When I say nearby, I mean near to the village where I live.
This is a beautiful, old house, but in terms of age, it is one of the newer properties, many other properties being centuries older. I would suspect that the porch was cannibalised from an older building: it doesn't match the other half of the building and is made of dressed stone. This 'borrowing' is a common practice around the area.
If you have time, you may enjoy an amazingly link that I found. It was set up by Mike Baker and records the memories and the old photographs of people who used to live in Winewall, who now live all over the world. You can access the link here.
Thank you for your interest and I wish you a happy day, Bev :-)

Good Morning Bev - You say in your notes that this house is one of the newer properties in Winewall and yet it looks mellow and well rooted in the location. Soft and attractive colours with the white window frames adding good bright areas of contrast and liveliness. I like the shadows across the FG, they give the impression that just behind where you are standing there are trees which give privacy to the house. Rural and lovely image. Warm regards rosemary

Hello Beverley
I like the dappled fg lighting & shadow play. Good sharpness & the fg sort of looks like a ranch in the US or Australia, but the bg house is unmistakeably English. Well composed using the rule of thirds, & with natural looking colour & excellent saturation & density. Tfs!

Hi Bev
a beautifully aspected composition and captured in such an irresistable light. The shadows and sweep of the fence just make the old walls stand out so elegantly. A perfect execution and presentation. Well done!

Hello Bev :-)
You are very good with architecture and I am learning something today. I can only spot the wall is rather different on the far end. The capture is beautiful with fine lighting and nice, balanced framing. A nice day with puffy little cloud and blue sky.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.

Good evening Beverly,
Thanks for warm words written, you were precise with the asumptions.
This new old house, was probably built in two diff. time interval, I think, as learn from two diff. textures on it's bricks.
Fabulous play of shadows on it's yard, good depth and clearity, and you managed super variable light conditions.
Regards
Ike

Ola Beverley ,
São muito bonitas estas casas de campo em Inglaterra , gosto da sua construção com as suas paredes em pedra escura em contraste com as janelas e portas brancas , parabéns!!

Hi Bev.
No doubt a beautiful and big house, we recreated here for your good work, with this beautiful POV that includes trees and green fields surrounding.
I like the effect of shadows in the foreground, very well managed with the brightness of the background, a beautiful sky complete the beautiful picture.
Enjoy a happy weekend.
Best wishes.
Luis.

Hello Bev,
this is certainly an interesting building with some rather unusual windows dotted about.
The curved fence holds the scene together really well whilst the light is warm and most pleasant.
Kind regards Les.

Hello Bev,
Now, this one is just so typical of you! I really didn't need to look to see who had uploaded this one, even from the thumbnail.
Lovely lighting with the dappled shadows of overhanging trees making lovely patterns on the fence and lawn in the forground, a wonderful curving fence to underline the composition and the fine house standing proudly in just the right position in the frame.
Lovely soft colours, fine lighting, perfect exposure and stunning sharpness.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Beverley. A pleasant composition with its blend of right angles and triangles of the building and the curving fence. Natural colours and softness of light make this a truthful record and an appealing photo. Regards. Klaudio.
