This is my short comeback to the historic center Vienna of 2011.
St. Stephen's Cathedral is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first a parish church consecrated in 1147. The most important religious building in Austria's capital, St. Stephen's Cathedral has borne witness to many important events in that nation's history and has, with its multi-colored tile roof, become one of the city's most recognizable symbols.

wow, the low POV works really well here emphasizing the size of the cathedral and other buildings. Well done.

Good morning Serghei,
One of the highlights in Vienna indeed, an impressive cathedral put on display in a different way that I've not seen before. I really like this low point of view, and the composition which concentrates on more of the pattern and architectural detail in this isolated section, rather than the entirety showing the spires. Those interesting details combined with the beautiful design of the accompanying buildings on the right side of the frame is a gorgeous mixture of color and contrast. Love the original arrangement of this well known square in Austria. Enjoy your day. Take good care.
Friendly wishes from Phoenix,

I was in Wien many times travelling to Nice in France but i never have an occasion to see this town for longer time. I like this dark colouring and contrasting golden details.
Beautiful roman Cathedral. I can see Mac Donald at the right side of the photo.
Fast foods are nightmare in many places. Once I could see Mac Donald placed in beautiful renaissance building - Oh my god! It destructed whole beauty of this historic building. Fortunately here is not so.
Best wishes, Leszek (shortly Les)

Terrific square-cropped shot of the very distinctive St Stephens architecture. I like the effect of the juxtaposition with the other buildings and the crowd of people, particularly the way the one with jeans on the left stands forward from the rest. Nice light and colour, avoiding the mistake of too much saturation and contrast. It has a very wintry feel to it.

I really like this shot. It's such a tight composition, very well cropped, and contains so much information among the people, the church and the buildings to the right. I like that there is no sky visible anywhere. This is a real city photo with fine colours and architectural details. Very well done, but I am surprised you kept this for so long.

I like how you played the shot, with a low pov and a smart crop, avoiding disturbing elements, beautiful tones and excellent detail...

Outstanding detail photo from St Stephen's Square. You have selected excellent tight crop allowing to see all the nice cathedral and neighbouring buildings details. The crowd adds nice life to the scene.
My preferred place when visiting Vienna (especially during spring & autumn season). Greetings, Miro.

J'aime la façon dont vous avez la cathédrale, d'une décoration magnifique, les bâtiments ou l'architecture est très jolie , colorées, l'ambiance donner par la foule, le rendu des détails et des couleurs, belle présentation

I love how you have filled the frame with the splendid buildings, how the architectural elements create a fascinating mosaic with so many details to observe and enjoy. Your low point of view makes the composition original and the effect of the people's movement more intense. I also love the combination of warm and moody colours. Congratulations and thank you! Also thank you very much for what you wrote in your comment to my picture, that quote is fascinating and so true!
All the best, have a great day,

adores (33954) 2013-09-03 17:51
It was probably very cold on that day! The buildings and catedral are a really great background here and even the people around add to the composition. A good low pov!
rigoletto (34109) 2013-09-06 2:47
have stood twice at the exact position over there, so your photo brings back wonderful memories from wien and stephansplatz. narrow cropping is so effective to give the closed atmosphere of the place. would look better with a slight perspective correction especially on the right hand side.
jmdias (52025) 2013-10-03 2:15
excellent use of the people to show the daily life there and these adornments in the roof. I remember this big cathedral and how difficult was to take nice images of it.
