Crazy POV, a photo from Mazowieckie, East

Photographer's Note

The Warsaw St. John's Cathedral and the neighbouring Jesuit's Church are in a very narrow street and it is very difficult to make the photos of the both facades. It is the only POV I could find.

No Happy New Year for admins and mods.
After a decision of removing the photos as a tribute to Gustaw, jasmis decided to quit this site. I am very sad about it as he is one of my dearest and longest friends here.

Hello Malgorzata,
I also experienced the difficulty to make good pictures of this church and the cathedral when I visited Warsaw.
But I think this is a very good result.
In general I'm not too fond of tilted buildings but here it works well and I believe it's partially thanks to the dark part of the overhanging wall on top.
The light on the facades and the tower is strong and makes the red colours contrast well with the sky.

Hello Malgorzata ,
Difficult to find the POV , may be , but not so crazy . The result is both impressive and really pleasant . Excellent framing (I like especially the dark part in the top ) , and superb colors .

Quel beau cadrage original. Utiliser la courbure de l'arche de cette facon est bien pensé ainsi que de pencher vers la droite ces beau bâtiments.

Czesc Malgorzata,
bez watpienia oryginalna kompozycja. Musisz do nowego aparatu dokupic obiektyw szerokokatny, albo tak jak ja ostatnio zaczac eksperymentowac z panoramkami :) To mogloby dac ciekawe efekty w tym miejscu.

Ja jasmisa znam raczej slabo, chyba dlatego ze o ile pamietam robil zupelnie inne zdjecia niz ja, natomiast w ogole nie slyszalem o Gustawie.

i see that you new camera is working pretty well, the colors and sharpness are excellent.
about the picture the p.o.v. you have chose is very original but as you write there was no other way to get a more classic one, i like it.

Not crazy - interesting, Malgo.
A good depth-on-hight ( like a DOF looking upward.../ my invetion...), good light prevails, excelent colors.

Hello Malgorzata,
This may be a crazy POV but a very attractive one, where a slice of roof (?) nicely frames the upper part. The light falls nicely on most parts of the fine façades.
It's a bit sad that the unhappy atmosphere on TE never seems to end. I hope you will remain so that I can see more of your pictures during 2011.

Dear Malgo!
A very unique POV, which also creates a frame within the frame!
Very sad regarding Jan...I wrote that in FB as well! There was surely no reason for removal of that post! He was a pillar of this site & it's sad that the last year had to end that way!

I love this composition of your magnificent hometown. It really demonstrates the narrowness of the streets and the characteristic architecture. The POV is excellent and the warm colours such a joy to look at. If these walls could speak, I am sure they'd have a lot to say.

Please do not leave this site. you punish not "the moderators", but us who remain here. You make an important contribution here, all those hours and all those friendships! You know my opinion on the Gustaw issue, I agreed the photo should have been reinstated. But a decision has been made, rightly or wrongly. Please put the matter in perspective - it is a decision about a photo about a candle. I believe Jasmis acted too quickly. He could have amended his Note and probably re-posted the photo. I have said before that TE is a microcosm of the world - and has such, misunderstandings occur over a failure to communicate. These misunderstandings occur way out of proportion to the initial problem. So please have a think about this matter again. And come back to us.
