Photographer's Note
There is a hidden gem in the downtown eastside of Vancouver, and its in this Chinese Garden.
The architecture is beautiful, the ponds are relaxing, the trees are memorable, and the photo opportunities are everywhere.
In this scene, i was here at 2pm, probably the worst time to be taking photos because the lighting is so bright and harsh! I'll go back in the evening next time for a more romantic setting.
Thanks for looking, have a great day
Craig

Hi Craig,
Despite your complaints about the overly bright light, this is still a wonderful picture. You have coped extremely well with the harsh contrasts.
Excellent composition, beautiful colours, fine reflections and stunning sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Good Morning Craig,
Sometimes we have no option but to photograph when time is available. Although light may not be exactly as you want it, it is a challenge to create the best shot available. I think you have risen to the challenge and surmounted it! The composition is lovely. The pleasing details of the curved pagoda roof fit snugly into the surrounding trees and are very much at ONE with the environment, a usual feature of this Japanese or Chinese gardens. The colours are not drained and you have some good reflections.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Craig,
I like this Oriental architecture. We have a similar one in Botanical Garden of Cluj-Napoca. Nice mood, like in the art film "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring".
Well catch, enjoy the day.

Bonjour Craig

Hola Craig!
You dont have to fly to China to get good chinese shots! It seems to be big the Chinese community in Vancouver, isn't it? I like the perspective very much and the winter light. Romantic shot!
Cheers,
Juan

Hi, This is another shot of this pagoda. Nice shot too, with the visitor inside it. Maybe the light is harsh, but for me it is romantic enough. beautiful rocks. There are often such rocks with holes in Chinese gardens, my friend called them osteoporosis.
Warm regrads

Hi Craig
Yep, that looks pretty authentic to me. I like the reflected green light on the right side of the curved roof. The woman adds scale. Good sharpness & nice reflections. Tfs!
