Good Morning Everyone,
Well, here it is, my first shot of 2014!
At last, we have had some sunshine and I have been able to pair up with it!
This shot was taken about half a mile from my home. It includes elements (besides the sun) that I like to include: winter tree, drystone wall and the moorlands.
The sun was getting quite low by the time I took this shot but was highlighting the moorlands towards the famous hamlet of Wycoller. If you would like to know more about Wycoller this is a fine link.
Have a lovely day,

Nice capture and a perfect lecture for a good pov !
Everything here at it's best.
Nice that you've kept the tree sligthly excenetered.
Good start, and may many others will follow it.
TFS and have a nice day

Amazing view of the moors. Love the two part lighting scheme in the frame, great contrasting effect between the two parts. Good framing with the rock and perfect placement of this barren tree. A photo strong on technical as well as scenic count. Nicely done, thanks for sharing.

the landscape is beautiful and it is looking so pleasant with your chosen POV. The tree with its leaf-less branches created here a nice atmosphere and provide a nice depth to the background view. Great composition with nice light. Tfs.

Yes, it has been a long time coming. I also managed to get out with the camera on Sunday, for the first time since September. I shall post some shortly. This shot was well worth waiting for. I like the placement of the tree, which makes an excellent frame for the distant hill. The image is pleasantly lit and has appealing fresh tones. Back to the showers today after another fine day yesterday, but at least that's par for the course here at this time of year.

if you are like me I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't get the camera out of its bag for a few weeks, so can identify with the motive of this shot. It is a simple yet beautiful image, with that feeling of spring in the air that lifts your spirit. Nicely conceived and attractively presented, lets hope we are over the worst of the recent weather, mind you it has just absolutely tipped down again here. Ho Hum!

Je ne peux pas dire que je suis très avancé dans mes photos cette année. Quelques photos en février, mais c'est encore très froid pour moi et pour ma caméra. Mais j'ai bien hâte de sortir. On voit une belle lumière à l'horizon.

You know that the most sharpness pictures can take in the beginning of the springtime, the air is pure.
These picture is technical excellent with the tree on 1/3 of the width.
Wonderful panorama view in background
You chose a very well angle this cares for depth and perspective.
A nice composition, good presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice day,

Delightful image of this delicate and peaceful pastoral landscape, lovely light, freshness to the colours and very good detail. Wonderfully shot that gives the impression of the vastness of the scenery and the frame makes one think that they are looking through a window with the wonderful tree leads. Indeed a classic English country side well captured,
P/S : with regard to your query, the yellow rectangle you referred to are just notices in written in Hindi without English translation, thks for your interest.

This is a very appealing photo and I would describe it as perfectly composed. The wall provides a neat foundation from which the tree seems to grow at a sutable distance from the left side, spreading its branches over the sky. I like the balance between the large green field and the distant hill that has been painted yellow by the sunshine.

I do like the use of the tree and the dry stone wall to frame this attractive country scene, with the sun shining on the distant fields it draws the eye into the picture giving it a nice feeling of depth all beneath a most interesting February sky.Lovely.
Best regards Les.

Ciao cara Beverley
se questa è la prima dell'anno puoi ben dire di averre cominciato molto bene il 2014.
Eccellente la definizione e molto buona la composizione per un soggetto che si presta molto bene ad essere ripreso per la particolare illuminazione e per i colori.
Ciao e buona serata

This is indeed a very pleasant view and also a very well composed picture. The tree at the right position etc... A beautiful sunshine over the hills far away. An interesting note and link too. This looks like a very beautiful part of England, seems to be perfect for walking with no steep hills or so.

They Say start as you mean to go on, and what a start! A perfect thirds composition, both vertical and horizontal makes this very special in addition to the skeleton tree, the beauty of the distant landscape bathed under this amazing ight. The colors are superb too, even though the base colors are green and blue, I can detect hints of purple and pink too. Perhaps I can smell those colors but I definitely sense them there.
Congrats on a beautiful start to 2014.
All the best

Your title intrigued my right away...what's first of the year, what could it be?? :) Surprised to find out after almost two months this is your first photo of 2014...but what a great way to kick it off! Loving the layers, both horizontal and in depth. The tree adds a strong vertical component and the barren branches extending out aid in that perception of distance. Lovely soft colors and choice background light make this quite special.
After the countless storms you've endured, and seeing this sunny sky and wide open green field...did you jump the wall and run around in circles with childlike enthusiasm, soaking up the warmer weather and dry terrain? haha I envy your close surroundings, this looks incredibly pleasant, and not a cactus in sight! ;) Have a great day ahead. All the best.

Depth of field with double meaning here, Beverly. Wonderfully positioned yourself for the photo to include the stones-fence and the big tree, yet maintaining a great view of the green pasture and hills on far.
You were so right about watching people in another country, but to show on photo is a whole diff. skill - and I still have a lot to learn about.
Thanks and have a nice evening,

very nice landscape and composition here. Good idea (tree on FG). Also I like the light and colors like on early spring. Well done photo.
Have a nice evening.
