It's along time I didn't published a B&W picture.
I was in Toulouse for a few days for my work, and I remember that going out of a public phone - my daughter got her degree in German and was pleased to tell me - I saw this silhouetted bike seeming very old and its shadow, so I pressed the shutter.

un vélo, des grandes ombres, de forts contrastes, le sujet est superbe!C'est évidemment le N&B qui convenait le mieux à ce style de photo.Je regrtee un peu la présence des lignes sur la route, mais ce n'est qu'un petit détail.

Hello Claude,
Very interesting B&W image.
It has a atmosphere of the 50ties or so.
Maybe becuase of the b&w, the bike model, the strong contrasts or the grainness.
I Like the pov and the composition.

You've framed a lovely composition featuring a silhouette and a reflection, and a B&W format is ideal for the purpose. The framing also is creative with the appearance of a white mat in a black metal frame.

i like these simple scenes, simple but so smart and so effective.
every inch of the frame is used to its maximum.
the subject is doulbled and becomes even a bit more extended with the long shadow.

Love your creativity and observation playing with available elements in such an exciting way and well executed. Timely shot when the low sun behind the sharp bike has given lovely long shadows leading through the foreground providing such good depth and wonderful patterns filling much of the pavement. The color contrast is stunning and sharpness is superb. Well done

Salut Claude,

It was a wise choice to press that shutter, this is a lovely photo...and looks amazing, I would never have guessed this to have been taken so long ago!? Quite an artistic eye to have recognized this and been able to transform it into a visually appealing photograph. The directional light and elongated shadow make for a dramatic effect. The simplest of things can turn out to become some of the finest pictures. Very well done!
