Many things can actually happen on the shapes of the floor of the promenade that runs along the beach, if you find a good point of view and you look carefully...
"I'm walking the dog", written by Cliff and Tex Grimsley:
I'm a-walkin' the dog
And I'm never blue
I'm a-walkin' the dog
I ain't thinkin' 'bout you
Don't need no one
To tie me down
I'm a-walkin' the dog
And a-paintin' the town
Such an easy life
I never knew
Until the day
That I left you
Well, I'm a carefree lad
That's seen the light
I'm a-walkin' the dog
All the day and all night
Well, I'm full of pep
I just can't grow old
I got a one-track mind
So I've been told
But I'm fancy free
I don't worry no how
And, I'm walkin' the dog
All the law will allow

What a huge shadow gerat composition I wish the man also in the composition but I think it is impossible from the point of you.
delnaja (2054) 2008-07-08 2:47
superb capture like I like them, and well composed.
The feeling of another world... an alien and his dog : )
riodda (617) 2008-07-08 2:47
I would give you 10 point if possible for this picture.
I really love the framing, and the shadows of the man and the dog on the pattern of the floor it's really nice.
The only thing i would change is to put in BW with some strong contrast.
Anyway great picture, thanks for sharing.

A very special picture. Clever idea and perfect POV, with such long shadows seen from above.
luluwi (224) 2008-07-08 2:55
Wow! I like pictures of shadows on the ground, especially whene the ground is such a coarse asphalt!
Curious your choice to post it shadow-oriented.
Looks like african wooden statues!
lestans (17078) 2008-07-08 2:57
what a composition!
Great picture. I like it also because you show the "real"dog, but not the man.

baba_flies (8829) 2008-07-08 3:58
... but it also takes a very good eye to discover these things. When I see them on TE I try to remember, when I stand there I can't see a thing :) I love your long shadow of the person and how you use it through your whole picture. Funny to see the dog twice and the shadow makes me smile, he seems more important :) Barbara.

Great photo for me! I like how you composed the frame, love the shadows lying but walking, nice light and colours. I reflect on this how this photo would look like if you removed the dog and the men's legs.
TopGeo (38192) 2008-07-09 1:17

one more play with long shadows and textures... well done, daniel, particularly with that diagonal spread of the man's shape...
hispic (9619) 2008-07-09 2:39
Excellent shadow art! you have produced it with an exquisite background that the dog is stepping forward one step from the curved part.
Have a nice day, Hisashi

Hello, Daniel -
Great imagination to turn the shot so that the elongated shadows are the stars of the show. I really like the textures and tones and curved pattern of the surface of the promenade. Surreal feel, like a cartoon - very well done.
marietom (34607) 2008-07-09 7:29
Excellent, ce jeu d'ombres, si allongées, et si belles !

Asiulus (1176) 2008-07-22 23:36
Marvellous - so clear and abstract, I live it - maybe the most of the whole serie.
josepmarin (57591) 2008-07-26 11:56
Your creativity in this composition is obvious in the result that you have obtained.
Excellent graphism on having played with the long shades of the man and his dog and the geometry of the pavement, and good idea when the image to turn 180 º.
