Photographer's Note
Attacus Atlas is considered largest moth in the world because of the total wing surface area. The wing patterns bear a resemblance to maps and also snake`s head.
The moth`s life span is 1 - 2 weeks, they have no mouth and do not feed but survive entirely on larval fat reserves that they build up while they are caterpillars.
They can be found in tropical and subtropical forest of South East Asia. Unfortunately I`ve not travelled yet as far so I only could see this one in Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo.
